Liopetri River watercolour by savva

Heading Out – Liopetri river – Watercolour by Savva

Liopetri River watercolour by savvaOn the road to Ayia Napa there’s the famous and most beautiful river of Liopetri. Adorned by it’s many little fishing boats, it’s a wonderful graphical place for the local fishermen to tie up their boats in rough weather. The view is spectacular and a true representation of a traditional Mediterranean fishing port. I was there today just as the last rays of the sun where falling on this amazing place. I hope you like the painting and hope you get a chance if you haven’t visited this place already to do so, especially late afternoon.

Ayios Theodoros village – Watercolour by Savva

Ayios Theodoros village in Cyprus. The village itself is surrounded by orange orchards. To be here or even better, ride through its little roads in spring when all the trees are in full blossom is something truly amazing. The aroma of the flowers is sheer heaven. Anyway, hope you like the painting :) It’s a 56×38 cm watercolour, painted on the spot and loved every minute of it. S

Ayios Theodoros Cyprus Watercolour by Savva

This one is from the village of Ayios Theodoros just a few kms from my studio. It was a bit too cold for painting but I think it was worth the frozen fingers:) hope you like it. The village is surrounded by orange tree orchards and the blossom smell in spring is something that can only be experienced by being there. One can easily describe it as sublime.Ayios Theodoros Watercolour by Savva

Venice Sunset Watercolour by Savva

One of my favorite parts of the world. This is Venice even though the original shot taken by a friend was taken late in the morning, I thought that a sunset would be a more suitable setting for such a magnificent city. I hope you like it :) S

The original photo was taken by Shahjahan Ahmed a wonderful friend and fellow watercolour artist. Thank you Shahjahan for posting your image and look forward to catching up with you again soon.

Larnaca Castle in Watercolour

At the end of Finikoudes (palm trees) you come against this incredible structure. A quick glance at Wikipedia will tell you that even though Larnaca has been inhabited since the 14th century B.C. The Castle wasn’t erected until the 12th century A.D. Now days it’s a wonderful museum with a great atmosphere and some wonderful exhibits. What I love about this place is that the water literally laps up against its walls. The other landmark of course are the amazing street lights. I spent a lot of my teenage years around this place and even though it changed a lot especially the past few years, it still retains all it’s charm and magic. I hope you like the painting and if you have some time, drop in and take a look :)
